President Trump has unveiled a new program aimed at the Black community that should garner him some votes. But it won’t sway many Blacks who have fallen into the bad habit of believing Democrats. For years Democrats have made promises just before elections that they forget about the day after the election.
President Trump made no such promises in 2016, yet he delivered for Blacks in a big way. He increased Black employment, decreased poverty, and fixed sentencing extremes. Trump bailed out Black Colleges and Universities about to close their doors.
He now has a new plan that I have no doubt he will deliver on. Despite his actions, many Blacks will pull the lever for Democrats in large numbers. But not as large as in previous years. Many have seen Trump’s actions and see a ray of hope emanating from Washington. They have seen gains and wish to see them continue.
The president’s plan is multi-faceted. It will spend $500 billion in helping to increase the number of Black-owned businesses in the United States. There will be tax cuts and more opportunity zones that revive blighted communities. But his plan will also help lift even more Blacks out of poverty than he has in his first term.
The Democrats are worried about the increasing number of Blacks who are supporting President Trump for reelection. They always count on receiving at least 90% of their votes. Trump could end up with 20% or more of the Black vote. Democrats are having nightmares during the daytime.
Trump’s plan also calls for designating the KKK and antifa as domestic terrorists. That will be popular among many Blacks since antifa burns businesses in predominantly Black neighborhoods. Most Americans agree with the president on this one. But unlike Democrats, Trump makes a promise he intends to keep.
From The Blaze
Trump is promising a federal effort to help create 500,000 new black-owned businesses and 3 million new jobs for the black community. The plan calls for regulatory reform, examining “barriers to employment including fees, occupational licensing, arrest record inaccuracy and expungement.”
The plan would also expand the federal bureaucracy by making the Minority Business Development Agency permanent, appointing its leader to the assistant secretary of commerce level, and “create a sub-office of African American affairs” to partner with the private sector and develop black-owned businesses.
Trump is calling for additional reforms to make it easier for black Americans to build credit through rent, utilities, and phone bills as well.
“Full school choice” is promised, as well as increases to Pell grants, the development of more apprenticeship and job-training programs, and increased childcare tax credits for “access to quality pre-school.”
“For decades, Democrat politicians like Joe Biden have taken Black voters for granted. They made you big promises before every election — and then the moment they got to Washington, they abandoned you and sold you out. The Democrats will always take Black voters for granted until large numbers of Black Americans vote Republican.”
In his plan, the president offers Second Step Act. it will place drug rehabilitation over drug incarceration. A new National Clemency Program focusing on “wrongful prosecution and rehabilitation. And a program that concentrates on finding jobs for ex-cons.
Many years ago I wrote a story about a Black power shortage. I explained that Blacks hurt themselves by giving Democrats over 90% of their votes. The Democrats knowing they can count on the Black vote no matter what, do nothing. Republicans knowing they will get less than 10% of the vote do nothing.
But if Blacks were to increase voting for Republicans to 25%, both parties would fall all over themselves to do things for the Black community. The Democrats have been focusing on gays, transgenders and illegal aliens, and the Blacks have gotten nothing.
Let me make one thing as clear as glass. The US economy will never reach it’s full potential as long as we cut Blacks and Hispanics out of the equation. It just can’t be done. Trump’s programs lifted Blacks and Hispanics and reduced poverty. As a result, the economy set record after record. This was not a coincidence.
Trump has increased support among both communities. He has done right by them and they are rewarding him. He plans to do even more. Many will believe him. Many won’t. But will enough believe him to return him to office? Who knows. But we will know in a few short weeks. Either Trump wins, or we are on the road to socialism.
It also helps that BLM’s approval rating among Blacks is falling. They are tired of seeing their communities destroyed and their jobs along with it.
