Bill Barr is gone but the malady lives on. There is now a fierce debate within the Department of Justice over whether a special counsel should be assigned to the Hunter Biden case.
The answer is yes.
The reason is simple. Biden could not fire or dictate to a special counsel no matter how much taxpayer money he is willing to give away.
There are many things about the deals Hunter Biden made in Ukraine, China, and other countries, including influence peddling and money laundering, and let us not forget income tax evasion. Sleepy Joe is still calling it Russian disinformation even though it is all right there on Hunter’s laptop. I think he is covering up for The Big Guy.
At this time there are high level discussions on whether there should be a Special Counsel appointed to investigate Hunter Biden to prevent Joe from sweeping it all under the rug. There are plenty of people on both sides of the argument. Personally, I believe we need a Special Cousel and thankfully no one appointed by Bill Barr.
Attorney General Bill Barr, who resigned from his post last week and had his last day at the Justice Department Wednesday, said earlier this week that he had “not seen a reason” to appoint a special counsel to probe President-elect Joe Biden’s son, who is under federal investigation for his “tax affairs.”
But one source familiar told Fox News on Wednesday that it is an “open discussion.”
“It is an ongoing discussion,” the source told Fox News. “No decisions have been made either way.”
Another source told Fox News that some high level DOJ officials believe a special counsel is “warranted,” and cited the special counsel statute.
A source told Fox News:
“It was passed to deal with a potential conflict of interest of the attorney general or the president of the United States. A president-elect coming in, where his appointed attorneys will be investigating his son? That’s textbook conflict.”
Biden claims that he will not bring the subject up as her interviews for the job of Attorney General. Do you believe him? I know I sure don’t. I trust him as much as I would a lead parachute.
