Mike Huckabee is no stranger to calling people out and blasting the truth for all to hear. Now the former Arkansas governor is shining the spotlight on former FBI Director James Comey.
Huckabee said that Comey is acting like “a woman scorned” and called him out for trying to get revenge on President Trump. He claims that Comey attacking Trump is a last ditch effort to sell books.
“The truth is his credibility is shot,” Huckabee said on Thursday while appearing on Fox News with Bill Hemmer.
“He is like, you know the old saying, there’s no anger like a woman scorned,” Huckabee continued about Comey, and how he was publicly fired by the president.
“He’s out for a little bit of revenge,” he added. “I don’t begrudge him for wanting to make money. Everybody wants to make money.”
Comey’s interview came just before the release of his new book “A Higher Loyalty” on April 17. The book should shed light on his time in the Trump administration and how he handled high-profile investigations.
He complained, however, that Comey leaked government information that wound up in The New York Times. For that, he said, he should be under investigation.
Huckabee further speculated that people who “cannot stand this president” will be the ones tuning in to watch Comey’s ABC interview on Sunday.
“When you start selling out things that are the property of the government, not your own personal property, then you’ve lost your credibility,” Huckabee concluded.
