James Mattis, an esteemed Marine general who served as Secretary of Defense for President Donald Trump, and who resigned his position, though there’s a dispute over whether he was fired or he resigned, has written what is considered a “broadside” against the president by the left-leaning Atlantic, that is completely unworthy of any dignity for a Marine general. I’m not kidding.
The Atlantic piece starts off repeating a blatant lie by Mattis and they never question it, saying, “In an extraordinary condemnation, the former defense secretary backs protesters and says the president is trying to turn Americans against one another.”
In other words, Mattis has said that the rioters that Trump has come out against are no different from the peaceful protesters, and that Trump hasn’t distinguished the two groups. Lies, damn lies, and Democrat lies.
“I have watched this week’s unfolding events, angry and appalled,” Mattis wrote. “The words ‘Equal Justice Under Law’ are carved in the pediment of the United States Supreme Court. This is precisely what protesters are rightly demanding. It is a wholesome and unifying demand—one that all of us should be able to get behind. We must not be distracted by a small number of lawbreakers. The protests are defined by tens of thousands of people of conscience who are insisting that we live up to our values—our values as people and our values as a nation.” He goes on, “We must reject and hold accountable those in office who would make a mockery of our Constitution.”
Distracted by the “small number of lawbreakers?” Has the general been living in a cave owned by the Bush’s?
Thousands of violent rioters and criminals for nearly a week now have attacked cities all across the country. They are attacking innocent people, attacking, and in some cases killing cops, committing wholesale looting, and burning buildings in many cities.
They burned down a police precinct in Minneapolis. They set fire to the iconic and historic St Johns church in DC, right across the street from the White House.
Black business owners in cities have seen their properties destroyed, and their livelihoods wrecked, some of them will never be able to get back what they spent years building.
Peaceful protesters haven’t done these vile acts.
Trump has never said a word against the peaceful protesters. In fact, he said the exact opposite of what Mattis, the Atlantic, and other Trump haters have professed.
The president has stood up for the rights of protesters while at the same time denouncing rioters and criminals. Mattis and the rest have been conflating the two, and believe me, it’s been done on purpose.
You want proof?
The president clearly gave a speech where he championed the right of protesters and showed empathy for those mourning the death of George Floyd, while at the same time pointing out that rioters and looters are not to be tolerated.
“Donald Trump is the first president in my lifetime who does not try to unite the American people—does not even pretend to try. Instead, he tries to divide us,” Mattis continued. “We are witnessing the consequences of three years of this deliberate effort. We are witnessing the consequences of three years without mature leadership. We can unite without him, drawing on the strengths inherent in our civil society. This will not be easy, as the past few days have shown, but we owe it to our fellow citizens; to past generations that bled to defend our promise; and to our children.”
This right here proves that Mattis is either a Never Trumper or he has an axe to grind with how he left his post. Three years of a deliberate effort to divide us?
I have lost all respect I had for this man. For a general to lie this badly about a sitting president is not only a disgrace, but a despicable act coming from a despicable person.
There has never been in my lifetime another Republican president who has reached out to groups that historically have not supported Republican candidates, the way Donald Trump has. This president reached out to the black community and was ridiculed for it by the same people like Mattis, the NY Times, CNN and the rest of the usual suspects of the Left. Trump also reached out to the Hispanic community, to the LGBT community and others.
Before the Chinese virus came along, Trump’s policies, resulted in the lowest unemployment rates for the black and Hispanic communities in recorded history. Women’s unemployment the lowest in 70 years.
President Trump took on criminal justice and prison reform, and succeeded with signing The First Step Act, a law that provides prisoners given long sentences for non-violent crimes, thanks to the Clinton crime bill written back then by Senator Joe Biden, a second chance in life. This had such an incredible impact on the black community that CNN’s Van Jones praised it.
Trump not only gave more money to Historically Back Colleges and Universities (HBCU) he got the money added to the budget, so that every year it will be there as a guarantee. No other president did that. Trump did, because he felt it was the right thing to do.
The president has worked very hard to bring people together, and he did so, which is why the Left, and Never Trumpers like Mattis, hate him and want to stop him. They can not allow Donald Trump to keep winning for the American people, especially when they don’t get the credit.
What we have been witnessing since the pandemic lockdowns is the whitewashing of all of the successes Trump has achieved, because many of them, like prison reform, have been issues that Democrats have talked about for a very long time, but Trump is the one who got them done.
There is nothing more despicable than a Marine general telling blatant lies about the Commander-in-Chief. His lies here are demonstrable. Shame on him.
