Joe Biden, the Democratic Party’s current front-runner for the 2020 Democratic Party nomination, has just very openly admitted that if he’s elected, he’s coming for your guns.
Liberals love to make fun of American gun owners who claim that Democrats want to take away their guns, likening them to Chicken Little’s “the sky is falling” arguments.
During an interview with CNN’s Anderson Cooper, Biden was asked a question about gun confiscation.
Cooper said, “To gun owners out there who say a Biden administration means they’re going to come for my guns…”
The 76-year-old Biden interrupted Cooper saying, “BINGO! You’re right if you have an assault weapon. The fact of the matter is that they should be illegal. Period.”
I guess this means we’re not all a bunch of Chicken Littles running around in tinfoil hats spreading conspiracy theories when we point out that the Left’s ultimate goal is to take away our guns. Biden literally just said it on CNN to Anderson Cooper.
The Left used to say “automatic weapons” until it was repeatedly pointed out to them that real automatic weapons were banned back in the 1930’s. Now they have substituted “assault weapons,” while clandestinely trying to make people think automatic weapons.
Any weapon is an assault weapon. My son owns an assault baseball bat and an assault hockey stick. I myself drive an assault vehicle.
Biden used that kind of candor about gun confiscation, because that’s what Democrats do when a mass shooting happens. The rest of the time they’re calling for “common sense gun control.” Common sense. How come they never say things like “common sense tax cuts,” or “common sense immigration reform?” Wait a minute, they do! It seems they put the words “common sense” before any issue they know will make zero common sense, and they think Americans are stupid enough to fall for that, just like they think all Americans are dumb enough to fall for the assault weapons switch-a-rooney.
Everyone in the country knows that Democrats’ top goal is to take away our guns. Those who believe in the right to protect themselves, and even those who don’t. Everyone knows that’s their goal, and now you know Joe Biden, the 2020 Democratic Party front-runner, is openly admitting it.
Biden went on saying, “Look, the Second Amendment doesn’t say you can’t restrict the kinds of weapons people can own. You can’t buy a bazooka. You can’t have a flame thrower.”
But in reality, that is exactly what the Second Amendment says. Democrats always forget the last four words of the Second Amendment, “… shall not be infringed.” It doesn’t say, “… shall not be infringed, except for bigger weapons that can be carried by someone, but we just don’t want them to have it.”
The Second Amendment:
A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.
The Founders didn’t write only handguns, it says arms, and it says very directly “the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed.”
Here’s NRA spokesman Colion Noir breaking down the interview in the masterful way that only he can do.
Democrats make arguments about the term “a well-regulated militia” meaning the army and not a group of private citizens, and that the government has the power to regulate it. That’s not what the term well-regulated meant in the late 18th century. That term had been around for quite some time prior to the writing of the Second Amendment.
To those who wrote the Second Amendment the term well-regulated meant the action of the subject attributed to it was working in proper working order, or not hampered by government in any way. To operate regularly.
And the Founders were deeply serious about the federal government not doing anything to stop an individual from being able to own a firearm, because you don’t see anywhere else in the Constitution the words “shall not be infringed.” They knew that without the ability of the people to fight back against a totalitarian government, governments all eventually become totalitarian.
Democrats and gun grabbers always act like those last four words don’t exist. Any “common sense gun control” policy is an infringement, and no, it doesn’t mean that sometimes the federal government gets to make laws against the right to keep and bear arms. The words “shall not” don’t mean may not or might not. It means no way, not today, not ever with no ambiguity whatsoever.
Leftists have been playing loose words of the Second Amendment for decades, and it’s high time we the people let them know that we’re tired of it, especially when Democrats and liberals are the ones who came up with asinine laws like gun-free school zones, a policy that makes the most vulnerable among us, our children, the target of some maniac who knows a school is a place where he can go to shoot as many people as possible and there will be no one there to shoot back.
What Biden and others in power who make such BINGO! type statements are saying is that they believe the American people don’t have the right to protect themselves, not just from criminals who seek to harm them, but from government too. The only reason why our government hasn’t already become outwardly tyrannical is because they know there are over 300 million guns across the heartland of America, and without those firearms in the hands of we the people, they most most assuredly trample on all of your other rights. Liberals love to control you, and without the right to tell the government to let you the hell alone, they would do just that.
