BOMBSHELL! DOJ And FBI Were Warned About Steele Dossier Bias And Its Connection To Hillary Clinton

The opinions expressed by columnists are their own and do not necessarily represent the views of David Harris Jr.

They knew!  They ALL knew!!! Bruce Ohr, in 2016, who at the time was the No. 4 Department of Justice (DOJ) official, briefed senior DOJ and FBI officials that Christopher Steele’s Russia dossier was bought and paid for by Hillary Clinton and her campaign, and was more-than-likely biased, and therefore shouldn’t be used.  THEY KNEW!  And they went ahead and used it to apply for a FISA warrant against the Trump campaign anyway!
In July and August of 2016 Ohr’s briefings included the Deputy Director of the FBI, a top lawyer for Attorney General Loretta Lynch, and a DOJ official who later was hired as the top deputy to special counsel Robert Mueller.
This is incredible!  They all knew that the dossier was fake and paid for by Donald Trump’s election opponent Hillary Clinton.  And they used the dossier to get their government coup attempt into the secretive FISA system so that they didn’t have to worry about being caught breaking DOJ and FBI rules and laws.
At the time of the briefings Ohr was the associate attorney general, and his warnings about the political bias that was in the Steele dossier were omitted weeks later from the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant that James Comey’s FBI applied for and obtained from a federal FISA court, giving them permission to spy on the Trump campaign to see if they were colluding with the Russians during the election, knowing full well it wasn’t true.  The true nature of their actions was the use the tools that come with the power of their positions in law enforcement to stop Donald Trump from winning the election.
This is the worst corruption we have ever seen in federal law enforcement, things that only happen in banana republics, and not the United States.
Ohr’s activities spread sunlight on the most damning evidence yet that DOJ and FBI officials might have misled federal FISA court judges in October 2016 in their dogged determination to get into the FISA system by targeting Trump advisor Carter Page mere weeks before the election.  It is a felony to mislead a court, and these so-called law enforcement professionals have a code of conduct they must follow that compelled them to tell the judge that they knew the dossier, which was the main body of evidence they used to get the judge to sign off on the FISA warrant, was bought and paid for by Trump’s campaign opponent, Hillary Clinton, and the DNC.
And these creeps lied all the way through the process.  DOJ released a redacted version of the FISA application last year, and it revealed that the FBI never mentioned any connection to Clinton or the DNC.  It simply referred to the former British spy Christopher Steele as a ‘reliable source” in past criminal investigations who was hired by a person working for a U.S. law firm to conduct research on Trump and Russia.  They also neglected to mention that Steele had been fired by the FBI for violating FBI rules.
From The Hill:

The FBI claimed it was “unaware of any derogatory information” about Steele, that Steele was “never advised … as to the motivation behind the research” but that the FBI  “speculates” that those who hired Steele were “likely looking for information to discredit” Trump’s campaign.
Yet, in testimony last summer to congressional investigators, Ohr revealed the FBI and Justice lawyers had no need to speculate: He explicitly warned them in a series of contacts, beginning July 31, 2016, that Steele expressed biased against Trump and was working on a project connected to the Clinton campaign.
Ohr had firsthand knowledge about the motive and the client: He had just met with Steele on July 30, 2016, and Ohr’s wife, Nellie, worked for Fusion GPS, the same firm employing Steele.
“I certainly told the FBI that Fusion GPS was working with, doing opposition research on Donald Trump,” Ohr told congressional investigators, adding that he warned the FBI that Steele expressed bias during their conversations.
“I provided information to the FBI when I thought Christopher Steele was, as I said, desperate that Trump not be elected,” he added. “So, yes, of course I provided that to the FBI.”
When pressed why he would offer that information to the FBI, Ohr answered: “In case there might be any kind of bias or anything like that.” He added later, “So when I provided it to the FBI, I tried to be clear that this is source information, I don’t know how reliable it is. You’re going to have to check it out and be aware.”

Holy cow!  They knew from the very beginning that the Steele dossier was bogus information, and they never verified it.  It is policy that any evidence brought before a federal FISA court MUST be verified, and they didn’t comply.
Ohr even admits that he told FBI agents that his wife was working for the same firm that Steele was working for and that the firm was doing the Trump-Russia research project at the behest of Trump’s Democratic rival, the Clinton campaign!  Are you kidding me?
“These guys were hired by somebody relating to, who’s related to the Clinton campaign and be aware,” Ohr told Congress, explaining what he warned the bureau.
This entire series of criminal actions led to the Mueller witch hunt, which is based on the false assumption that the Trump campaign colluded with Russia to win the 2016 election.   When Barr is confirmed he should take a serious look into all of this matter, and give thought to disbanding the special counsel investigation and offer up a sincere apology to the president and his family for what these Obama DOJ and FBI cretins put them through for over two years.
