A teen replaced the school’s American flag, replacing it with the flag of ISIS and then he tried to set off an explosive device at his high school in Utah on Monday. A student at Pine View High School in St George, Utah was found with an explosive device in his backpack. Police say if he had been able to detonate it, much damage and loss of life were possible. I wonder if survivors of the plot will now go on TV and demand a law that says no one under 21 can build a bomb. The student is said to have been a fan of ISIS and had researched them and bomb making on his computer. A search of his home found bomb making material consistent with what the bomb was made of.

From CBS SLC, Utah

The suspect was arrested and faces charges of manufacture, possession, sale, use or attempted use of a weapon of mass destruction. More charges may be pending, according to police.

It was determined that if the device had detonated, it would have caused significant injury or death.

The device was disarmed and the suspect identified. The suspect is a juvenile male who was attending a class at Pine View High School.

More from CBS

A juvenile was arrested Tuesday morning after a ‘potentially’ dangerous homemade device was found at Pine View High School on Monday.

The juvenile was interviewed as a person of interest, police say.

During the interview with investigators, the suspect admitted to taking the American flag down and replacing it with an ISIS flag at Hurricane High School.

The suspect also admitted to spray painting “ISIS IS COMI” on the school that same morning, police say.

Imagine the death toll he could have racked up if he set it off during a school assembly. This is not about guns, it’s about sickos. This won’t get a lot of play on TV because the mainstream press doesn’t play up Islamic terrorism.
