When Hillary lost the presidency, Barack Obama was very angry. Yes, very angry and scared too. He had to realize his eight years as president was a total disaster but if Hillary succeeded him, she would have been so bad nobody would have dwelled on it. Would people have had such a low opinion of Jimmy Carter had be been succeeded by Obama rather than Reagan? You betcha. The very thought that Donald trump as president succeeding mainly by reversing everything he did in eight years must have been a very frightening thought. That’s when he decided to get world leaders with the same failed policies as himself to oppose Trump might be his best bet for preventing the public from realizing just how bad he had been.

In that pursuit, he tried to enlist Canadian Justin Trudeau to try to undercut Trump. That didn’t work out because one of the first things President Trump addressed was NAFTA. That put Trudeau on the defensive.

Obama reportedly lobbied Canadian Prime Minister and Castro supporter Justin Trudeau to work against the incoming US president.

Mr. Rhodes describes the reaction of foreign leaders. Prime Minister Shinzo Abe of Japan apologized for breaching protocol by meeting with Mr. Trump at Trump Tower in Manhattan after the election. Mr. Obama urged Prime Minister Justin Trudeau of Canada to take on a more vocal role defending the values they shared.

Fortunately, this is Obama we are talking about and nothing he ever did worked out and like this plan has been relegated to the trash bin.
