In an unprecedented move, Senate Democrats have referred a letter concerning Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh to the FBI for investigation.
“I have received information from an individual concerning the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court. That individual strongly requested confidentiality, declined to come forward or press the matter further,” Senator Dianne Franken Feinstein (D-CA) said on Thursday.
In other words, this is a hit job, and the “anonymous” aspect was made so to add some darkness to the story. It’s all part of Democrat theater.
Didn’t Feinstein have a Chinese spy working for her for decades? Is the FBI investigating that?
“I have honored that decision. I have, however, referred the matter to federal investigative authorities,” she continued.
Of course she did. Now she can hide behind the cloak of honor and decency while hoping the story builds enough tension to affect his confirmation vote.
Democrats on Thursday got their stories straight, and began to publicly acknowledge the existence of the letter.
Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), quite possibly the biggest liar of the Senate, the # 2 Senate Democrat, and a member the Judiciary Committee, told BuzzFeed News that it had “been referred to the FBI for investigation.” I’m surprised the Senator from Illinois didn’t tell the fake news site that he heard Kavanaugh call the Supreme Court a sh**hole.
Don’t forget that Buzzfeed was the site that admitted they didn’t vet the Steele dossier, and had zero corroboration, yet they published it anyway just to hurt Donald Trump.
The Democrats aren’t saying anything about the contents of the letter, other than it concerns Kavanaugh. That’s probably because there’s really nothing to the story, and Democrats want to spread as much disdain about Kavanaugh as possible.
Feinstein refused to answer questions by reporters about the letter for the past two days. The letter in question was supposedly first given to Rep. Anna Eschoo (God bless you), a California Democrat. Feinstein also refused to share any information in the letter with other members of the committee. Do you think her Chinese spy may have read the letter?
Sources told The Intercept that the letter came from someone connected to Stanford University. Other sources said the information in the letter was about an incident involving Kavanaugh and a woman from back in high school.
The New York Times did its part to destroy Kavanaugh by citing two sources familiar with the matter, claiming that there was an incident about possible sexual misconduct. The New York Times wouldn’t make something like that up. Would they?
Does this not smell like a hit job to you? For years nothing bad was said about Kavanaugh in this regard, and now, all of a sudden, a woman comes forward from high school days against Kavanaugh? This smacks of what Democrats did to Herman Cain when he ran for president and they got a woman to come forward to say that she and Cain had an adulterous affair, in Chicago, the only major city which Cain never worked. It turned out the woman lived in the same building as David Axelrod, the Chief Strategist for Barack Obama’s presidential campaigns, who is famous for using sexual misconduct stories, real or otherwise, against political foes. As soon as Cain dropped out of the race, the woman was never heard from again. It looks like what’s happening to Kavanaugh is directly from the Democrat playbook.
An FBI spokesman said, “Upon receipt of the information on the night of September 12, we included it as part of Judge Kavanaugh’s background file, as per the standard process.”
From The Hill:
A government official confirmed that a criminal investigation has not been opened into the matter.
The letter comes as Kavanaugh’s nomination is moving forward in the Senate despite an intense fight over documents and questions from Democrats about if he misled the Judiciary Committee.
Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa), the chairman of the committee, has scheduled a panel vote on his nomination for Sept. 20 at 1:45 p.m. Because Republicans hold a majority on the panel his nomination is expected to be sent to the full Senate late next week.
George Hartmann, a spokesman for Grassley, said that the GOP senator had not seen the letter, but there were no plans to change the committee’s consideration of Kavanaugh.
“Senator Grassley is aware of Senator Feinstein’s referral. At this time, he has not seen the letter in question, and is respecting the request for confidentiality. There’s no plan to change the committee’s consideration of Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination,” he said.
A Judiciary Committee spokesperson confirmed that they had received an update to Kavanaugh’s background file on Thursday.
The White House dismissed the letter as a last-ditch effort by Democrats to end Kavanaugh’s nomination. They will do anything to prevent another Constitutional originalist from being confirmed to the Supreme Court.
“Senator Schumer promised to ‘oppose Judge Kavanaugh’s nomination with everything I have,’ and it appears he is delivering with this 11th hour attempt to delay his confirmation,” White House spokesperson Kerri Kupec said in a statement.
The FBI has said they don’t plan to investigate Kavanaugh, but instead will refer the matter to the White House. Given how high Kavanaugh’s public profile is, they’d naturally feel a lot of pressure to investigate if they had any reason to believe there was something to the claims in the letter. So, then why aren’t they just vetting it out now, to prevent a major clusterfark later on after he’s on the bench should there actually be something to the contents of the letter? Kavanaugh has been through the vetting process before, and nothing like this came up in the past, which again leads me to believe it’s all a bunch of leftist bullschtein.
