On Thursday, just hours after promising to help the hundreds of migrant kids being held in New York without their parents, New York Mayor Bill de Blasio basically said “you’re not important enough” to migrant children in New York City for a taxpayer-funded photo op outside an El Paso child shelter.

There were at least six people who traveled at taxpayer expense with the boobus mayor for the road trip to Texas, where he and other mayors protested President Trump’s “zero tolerance” policy at the border, and demanded he be allowed entry to the shelter.

“We fully expect to not be told the truth, we fully expect to be turned away the way senators and congressmen have been turned away just trying to get the honest truth about what’s happening to these children just as all of you have been doing,” de Blasio said at the press conference.

De Blasio paraded a line of news cameras to the gate of the facility, a tent city, that houses an estimated 360 kids. Once there, he proceeded to annoy and harass the federal guard to let him in.

Who does de Blasio think he is?  Here he is, the mayor of a city that is over two thousand miles away from El Paso, trying to act like he’s important enough that a federal officer must let him into the facility!

“Hi, how you doing? Mayor Bill de Blasio, mayor of New York City, is there a supervisor to talk to here?” he said.

The guard didn’t move,  but held an expression on his face that said, “Yeah, and?” De Blasio then turned to the cameras (probably using his “good” side), and insisted that he should be allowed in due to his job title.  Can you believe the arrogance of this guy?

“Everyone who works here knows that a group of mayors from all over the country came here on behalf of our millions and millions of constituents to know what’s going on,” he said.

“And the fact is this is our federal government denying access, not allowing information and it’s not American. It’s crazy.”

De Blasio didn’t mention that he ditched  239 children after learning that federal authorities placed them in an East Harlem foster care agency.  He spent all of an hour there on Wednesday before stating, “it is our responsibility to help these children in every way we can and we intend to do that.”

And then off he went for El Paso and a photo op.

In an interview with MSNBC de Blasio insisted that his trip to the border wasn’t a publicity stunt, declaring that it was his duty as an elected official to ask questions about what’s being done 2,000 miles outside of his own jurisdiction.   You remember when he did this when the Obama administration separated kids, right?  Yeah, me neither, because it never happened.

“The fact is this is something the American people care about… How was our money being spent? Is it being spent in a way that we would feel comfortable with?” he said.  Barf!

Not one reporter asked de Blasio about the fact that NY City cops and social services folks remove children from the homes of their parents every day, many times without a court order.

Despite the fact that President Trump signed an executive order that ends separating children from parents, de Blasio, no different from every radical leftist, declared that Trump “has not solved the problem.”  Enough is never enough for liberals. He probably wants a room at the Marriott, a year’s worth of free gas, and college tuition for every illegal border-crossing family as well.

Go back to New York, Mr. Mayor.  Things are being handled quite well in El Paso without your political posturing for a 2020 presidential bid.
