12 members of Russian military intelligence were indicted Friday, according to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, for hacking Democrats’ emails during the 2016 presidential election, and he also pointed out that there was no collusion alleged with any Americans. Hey Democrats, that includes Donald Trump!
John Podesta, an allegedly slimy Democrat, who was the chairman of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, and whose emails were numbered among those hacked and leaked out, championed the indictments as if they contradicted President Trump’s accusations of the Mueller probe being a witch hunt. Unfortunately for Podesta, the indictments confirm that there were no Americans involved in either the hacking or the propagation of the Democrats’ emails.
The indictment charges twelve Russian nationals for committing federal crimes that were intended to interfere with the 2016 U.S. presidential election. All twelve defendants are members of the GRU, a Russian Federation intelligence agency within the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Russian military. These GRU officers, in their official capacities, engaged in a sustained effort to hack into the computer networks of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, the Democratic National Committee, and the presidential campaign of Hillary Clinton, and released that information on the internet under the names “DCLeaks” and “Guccifer 2.0” and through another entity.
There is no allegation in the indictment that any American was a knowing participant in the alleged unlawful activity or knew they were communicating with Russian intelligence officers. There is no allegation in the indictment that the charged conduct altered the vote count or changed the outcome of the 2016 election.
The deputy attorney general said Democrats fell for Russian “spearfishing” attacks to gain access to Democrats’ accounts. No, liberals, Donald Trump did not provide Russia with Democrat’s passwords.
Rosenstein skipped over any mention any evidence gathered from the DNC computer servers, because oddly enough, they were never provided. That’s why the whole story stinks on ice. When the FBI went to the DNC and asked to see the “hacked’ servers, then-DNC Chairperson Debbie Wasserman Schultz refused to let them see the servers. The premier computer forensics law enforcement agency in the world was denied access to servers that the DNC claimed were hacked by Russians. Once the server was in DOJ custody, it mysteriously went missing.
Wasserman Schultz went on CNN and made claims that the FBI “did virtually nothing” to help the DNC after news of an alleged Russian hack on their servers broke and that they never asked to see them.
Wasserman Schultz is a pathological liar. Not only did she deny that the FBI ever asked to see the servers when they became aware of complaints about being hacked, but she went into details that sounded very convincing to anyone who doesn’t know she’s insane.
A senior law enforcement official tried to convince the DNC of the importance of the FBI being able to gain access to the servers, and the request was denied by the DNC.
“The FBI repeatedly stressed to DNC officials the necessity of obtaining direct access to servers and data, only to be rebuffed until well after the initial compromise had been mitigated,” the official was quoted by the news media as saying.
“This left the FBI no choice but to rely upon a third party for information. These actions caused significant delays and inhibited the FBI from addressing the intrusion earlier,” the official continued.
So far, none of the indictments by the DOJ or Special Counsel Robert Mueller, that Democrats love to shout about, have had anything to do with Trump and Russian collusion during the 2016 election. The most serious convictions have been for process crimes, such as providing false statements to the FBI, something unscrupulous FBI agents are very capable of causing someone to do without knowing it, and then using that against the person to either turn over evidence or even make it up in order to stay out of prison.
