Nikki Haley warned the United Nations that if they don’t act against a certain repressive regime, the US could be forced to take military action to protect the people of the country who have taken shelter underground for protection against the barrel bombs. She said that if they fail to act that they are as impotent as many people say they are. So, what country is she talking about? Syria. That means that should we attack Syria, we would also be facing off against Iran and Russia also. But I thought Russia was blackmailing Trump. Good thing you read that here because you would never hear that on CNN or PMSDNC. You also won’t read about it in the NYT, the HuffPo or the Washington Post.
In a statement given at the United Nations Security Council, Ambassador Haley gave a brief history of U.S. involvement in Syria, and warned that military action might be taken against Bashar al Assad.
“This is no ceasefire. This is the Assad regime, Iran and Russia continuing to wage war against their political opponents,” Haley charged.
“If we can’t save families that haven’t seen the sun for weeks because they have been hiding underground to escape barrel bombs,” she said, “then the security council is as impotent as its worst critics say it is.”
“When the international community consistently fails to act, there are times when states are compelled to take their own action,” she said.
She warned that any country that uses chemical weapons against their own citizens could face dire consequences from the United States. She said that is not what we prefer to do but that if necessary that could be the next step.
