Failed presidential candidate and soon-to-be-sworn-in U.S. Senator Mitt Romney (R-UT) in typical RINO (Republican In Name Only) fashion used the Washington Post on January 1st to slam President Donald Trump on New Year’s Day.  That about sums up the character of Mr. Romney.  He chose the first day of 2019, and a holiday to boot, to attack the president and leader of his own party.

“The Trump presidency made a deep descent in December,” Romney opened his op-ed Tuesday.

He mentioned his opposition to Trump in the 2016 presidential election, claimed that he had early hope for Trump’s presidency (does anyone really believe that?), then bemoaned that  “on balance, his conduct over the past two years, particularly his actions this month, is evidence that the president has not risen to the mantle of the office.”

It’s absolutely amazing to watch Romney, a classic RINO, show the world, very loudly, how much he wants to be loved by the likes of Democrats, the Washington Post, and the rest of the Trump haters, even at the expense of the country.  Because let’s face it, Mitt as president would have been yet another failure of RINOism. He would not have stood up to the pressures of the Democrats and liberals.  He didn’t in his 2012 campaign.

In what was a carefully calculated op ed, Romney acknowledged the president enacted “policies mainstream Republicans have promoted for years.”  He also lauded Trump aligning “U.S. corporate taxes with those of global competitors,” deregulation, and going after China for its “unfair” trade practices, criminal justice reform, and putting conservative judges on the courts.  But don’t be fooled.  That is the RINO’s way of convincing the reader that he is a reasonable and fair-minded person who is about to slam his target with moral righteousness. Gobbledygook!  It’s a disgusting tactic that the WaPo was only too happy to publish.

This pathetic small man went on to trash Trump’s character saying, “With the nation so divided, resentful and angry, presidential leadership in qualities of character is indispensable. And it is in this province where the incumbent’s shortfall has been most glaring.”

Romney just screwed the people who voted for him over the things he said he wants to do if elected.  Does he really think Democrats are going to support his ideas?  Does he now think President Trump is going to think of him as anything but another Jeff Flake?  In fact, I will refer to Romney as Mitt Flake Romney from now on.  In his attempt to be seen as relevant, Flake Romney trashed the man who is the head of the Republican Party and the occupant of the Oval Office.  That’s not something he should put on a resume.

Let’s not forget that Romney was also attacked by the Left, including the Washington Post, when he ran unsuccessfully against Barack Obama, a president who had the absolute worst economic indicators going into that election and should have been very easy to beat, yet he faced absolutely nothing like what Donald Trump has and is still dealing with since the day he was inaugurated.   That’s why Mitt Romney will always be remembered as a man who just never got it.  Donald Trump is trying to get rid of the corruption, grift and crony capitalism that nearly destroyed America, and either Romney is part of the Resistance that is desperately fighting to keep the old order or he is not.

Romney went on saying, “Trump’s words and actions have caused dismay around the world,” citing poll data.

“To reassume our leadership in world politics, we must repair failings in our politics at home,” Romney claimed. “That project begins, of course, with the highest office once again acting to inspire and unite us. It includes political parties promoting policies that strengthen us rather than promote tribalism by exploiting fear and resentment.”

From Breitbart:

Romney called for “setting a course to a balanced budget” and linking arms with other nations. He suggested, as the U.K. moves to leave the European Union, “We want a unified and strong Europe, not a disintegrating union. We want stable relationships with the nations of Asia that strengthen our mutual security and prosperity.”

The failed 2012 Republican presidential nominee and former Massachusetts governor relentlessly lambasted Trump during the 2016 presidential election. When time came for the 2018 midterm elections and Romney made his way to Utah to run for the U.S. Senate, president Trump chose to endorse him — and Romney accepted.

There are so many things this man doesn’t understand.  Brexit happened, because more British people recognized that globalization is a dangerous thing for a nation’s sovereignty, and the EU is the epitome of globalist policies that drain a people’s sovereignty, their culture, and their economy.  Globalism is nothing more than socialism on a world scale.  It is the very reason for the rise of nationalism here at home and around the world.

When you think about it, Donald Trump is fighting the same battle against the globalists.  He has repeatedly spoken about how globalist policies have screwed the United States over in trade and other issues.  Lots of folks hear that and get abstract thoughts of accounting practices of corporations, not realizing that what it really means is millions of American working-class families were screwed over by an elite group of politicians who gave away their livelihood for sweet-heart deals and the satisfaction of “feeling better” about themselves for giving away treasure to other countries in need by globalist policies.

The president has been fighting not to give the United States an unfair advantage, but to remove the unfair advantages against her that have been put in place and allowed by American politicians since the day Ronald Reagan left office.  And the results of his efforts, so far, have been nothing short of amazing.

Romney, on the other hand, would have continued to give away the country to globalist vultures in an effort to be fair and moral.  Like Obama, he would have kept NAFTA as it was, continued the same trade policies with the rest of the world, destroyed even more of our economy by staying in and enforcing the economic suicide built into the Paris Climate Agreement, and gotten us deeper into the hole we were already spiraling down.  Globalists like Romney felt that the experiment of the United States was over, and the important thing now was to manage its decline.  Donald Trump conversely understood that America was only in decline because her leadership had bad intentions turned into personal profit.  Either that or they were just incompetent.  Probably a little of both.  Trump truly is fighting for the forgotten men and women, forgotten by globalist politicians like Mitt Romney.

The Senator-elect is now in a position where he has nothing to fear except rejection by the globalists.  His Senate seat in Utah is his for life if he wants it.  He doesn’t even have to run again until after Trump is out of office.

The question is whether Romney will be there when it counts, or will be become another Jeff Flake, another John McCain, a RINOs who thinks it’s courageous to go against your own party at times when you want to make great headlines.  When the time arrives to vote for a judicial or cabinet nominee, will Mitt rise to the occasion or will he grandstand at the expense of the rest of us?

Judging by this and his last op ed, Mitt RINO is going to be a huge problem for the country.  He talks about character and pulls a stunt like this op ed piece against a president of his own party who endorsed him.  You have to wonder how a man as successful as he can be such a disappointment in politics.  Romney just doesn’t get it. He is exactly the type of Republican we’ve been trying to get rid of.   Thanks a lot, Utah!

My book is here! And I personally handed a copy to our President at the White House!!! I hope you enjoy it @realDonaldTrump!
