Democrat Sen. Maria Chappelle-Nadal (University City), who once said she wanted someone to assassinate President Trump, rose to the floor of the State Senate and demanded that the legislature adopt reparations for slavery. The last slave was freed 153 years ago and I would have no problem with paying reparations to anyone who was held as a slave but I don’t think it’s right to pay people born four generations after the end of slavery. But, if you want to say there are limitations on reparations, then don’t the blacks who claim they were the Egyptians owe their Jewish slaves who built the pyramids reparations plus about 3,500 years worth of interest?
Chappelle-Nadal doesn’t much like white Democrats either saying that Claire McCaskill is as worthless as Republicans are for black people. Well, Ms Chappelle-Nadal, who elected the Democrats? It wasn’t Republicans. She criticized McCaskill because she isn’t for reparations either.
Chappelle-Nadal was motivated by emails and phone calls from constituents on the issue, saying, “When I’m getting a single mother of three children calling me trying to find a place to live because they don’t have a place to live, that’s what’s on my mind today and every single day.”
The senator also insisted that black Missourians—including her own ancestors—don’t get enough for their past work, saying, “In Boone County, Missouri, in Callaway County, Missouri—what my family contributed to making the state what it is today is incredible, and my family deserves way more than what it is getting today.”
Chappelle-Nadal was in the news last August when she posted to social media her hopes that President Trump would be assassinated.
She ran into a buzzsaw after that comment and even fellow Democrats said that she needed to resign.
