The hypocrisy of Democrats and the Left just kills me sometimes.
Marsha Blackburn, the Republican Senate candidate from Tennessee, hit Democrat Phil Bredesen Wednesday night with accusations that he shielded friends from allegations of sexual harassment while claims nearly doubled during his time as governor of Tennessee.
The two battled it out in a debate during which Blackburn pointed to files on sexual harassment that were shredded. “The voices of those women were shredded. … They died in that shredder,” Knox News reported.
Bredesen responded to Blackburn’s claims by decrying the debate as becoming uncivil. I thought Hillary Clinton said there can be no civility until the Democrats take back the Congress?
The Blackburn campaign sent out an email Wednesday night offering a bunch of articles documenting Bredesen’s record on sexual harassment during the time he was governor of Tennessee, including suggestions that sexual harassment claims filed through his office included none or very few pages on the cases. The email pointed to a dozen sources making charges about the handling of sexual harassment by Bredesen.
Bredesen denied the claims and said they were wrong, acknowledging that they “had an issue with someone” and they got rid of the person.
Blackburn also brought up a report during the debate that Tennessee government sexual harassment claims under Bredesen’s gubernatorial tenure were on track to double in 2005 from 2004. The report came from the Associated Press in 2005. It was included in the campaign’s email.
She also referenced a 2005 investigation that found in at least two sexual harassment claims that investigators’ notes were shredded, according to the Tennessean. Blackburn used Bredesen’s own words against him in the debate, citing his comments about the problem of sexual harassment and not tolerating it: “Anytime you mix men and women together in a work environment, there’s going to be issues.”
Bredesen claimed Blackburn’s charges were a “total mischaracterization.” He claimed the shredding was done to protect women’s identities. He said he had encouraged people to come forward with claims and was “glad” the number of cases increased.
Yeah, he wanted to protect women’s identities the same way Dianne Feinstein protected Christine Blasey Ford’s identity when she outed her letter to the world. He didn’t give a rat’s behind about their identity, and shredded more-than-likely to protect the harassers’ identities.
Knox News said that only after the shredding of documents was reported in the news did Bredesen change the policy to no longer allowing document shredding of any kind.
It seems that Bredesen went soft on sexual harassment complaints while he was governor of Tennessee, and like most Democrats, he thought he’d get away with it because we do not have a news media that would report on the wrongdoing of a Democrat governor.
I think the reason there’s so much turmoil in the country right now is because we are living in a time when the establishment media no longer controls the narrative to cover up all the bad things Democrats are doing. Democrats have lost power pretty much everywhere, and so they are acting like a mob everywhere we turn. Violence is being called for by prominent figures like Hillary Clinton saying there cannot be civility until Democrats take back control of Congress, and Maxine Waters who tells her supporters to harass Trump administration officials and Trump supporters openly in public, and Cory Spartacus Booker telling supporters to “get in the faces” of legislators, and Eric Holder telling supporters to kick their opponents when they go low.
What’s happening is the Democrats are going toys-in-the-attic, bat guano crazy over their deep quest for power, and they know it’s not working, because while Republicans are focused on fixing real problems Democrats are focused on impeaching the president and Justice Kavanaugh, while Republicans are turning the economy around for the better, Democrats are telling us they want to remove the tax cuts so that you have less take-home pay. The answer is clear. Vote Republican in the midterm elections. The country as we know it is at stake.
