A Georgia police officer stopped a car for a routine traffic stop. He said he could smell marijuana coming from inside the car and had the driver step out of the car when he noticed something peculiar about his body language. Meanwhile a second officer arrived after the first officer Marietta Police Officer Brian Wallace called for back up to help in the search of the car. All of a sudden, the driver of the car jumped back into the car and tried to drive away. Officer Wallace threw himself inside the window and the car sped off, going for about a mile before getting stopped with the officer still inside the car, struggling with the driver.
Officer Wallace was carried along with speeds up to 71 MPH over rough city streets and rough terrain. At one point he managed to get the car door closed to keep it from flinging him into the oncoming traffic. The car was finally stopped and searched. During the wild ride, two guns were thrown from the car but later recovered.

One of the suspects jumped out of the car before the vehicle came to a complete stop. The driver eventually surrendered to Wallace. Two handguns that were tossed from the vehicle were recovered.
The three suspects — gang members from Massachusetts identified as Cory Moody, Eyzaiya Moody and Walter Gadson Jr. — were arrested and booked into jail Thursday. They face charges that include assault, obstruction, fleeing and eluding, kidnapping, felon in possession of a firearm. They also face traffic violation charges.
Fortunately, the officer was only slightly injured and the bad guys have been locked up. I love a happy ending.
