BOMBSHELL: Report Shows Armed Citizens Stop or Reduce Mass Shootings 94% of the Time

In a report that is bound to drive gun grabbers right up the wall, a study was done to see how effective an armed citizen is in the case of a mass shooting. The numbers are staggering. Out of 283 mass shootings over an 18 year period, there were armed citizens at just 33 of them. Out of those incidents, the armed citizens stopped the mass shootings 25 times. Another 6 were credited with reducing people who were shot and killed. Only 2 did not have any effect on the outcome. This is pure TNT. Imagine if there had been an armed citizen at all 283 shootings.

While sourcing data from the FBI and giving a prefrace, Paulsen reports on ConcealedCarry.com:

We thought it would be interesting to see if the overall percentage of events at which an armed citizen was present was increasing given the rise in concealed carry permit holders and gun owners nationwide. The data set is low enough that it is hard to draw any strong conclusions when you are looking at 33 incidents out of 283 over an 18 year period.

It is worth noting that there may be more than 33 incidents in which an armed citizen was present given that we have no way of knowing if an armed citizen chose NOT to engage and run the other way. That may not even be known to law enforcement. Our objective here is to look at incidents in which an armed citizen was clearly present and to some degree engaged the active shooter.

Looking at the 283 total Active Shooter events in our data pool, an Armed Citizen was Present and Engaged the Active Shooter in 33 total incidents (11.7%). This is all inclusive regardless of who the armed citizen was or their direct potential for stopping the shooter.

Of all the active shooter events there were 33 at which an armed citizen was present. Of those, Armed Citizens were successful at stopping the Active shooter 75.8% of the time (25 incidents) and were successful in reducing the loss of life in an additional 18.2% (6) of incidents. In only 2 of the 33 incidents (6.1%) was the Armed Citizen(s) not helpful in any way in stopping the active shooter or reducing the loss of life.

Since gun laws vary from state to state a common part of the political discussion is the effectiveness of state laws in stopping or slowing the instances of Active Shooter events. I don’t think it particularly wise to draw conclusions from the below chart for a few reasons.

First, the data pool isn’t big enough. 283 total events equate to about 5 1/2 per state on average … over an 18 year period. For example, North Dakota had 1 incident with a population of fewer than 1 million people. Its possible another 10 years could go by without any more incidents so calling it a high probability Active Shooter State is logically unsound.

Not only do armed citizens have a high success rate at stopping would-be mass shooters, but perhaps the most important statistic out of this data set is 0. That’s the number of innocents who were accidentally shot by the good guy. Zero.

It’s too bad places like Chicago encourage mass shooters to commit their crimes without having to worry about armed citizens stopping them.

Nunes Poses Questions For Trump To Ask British P.M. Theresa May About Her Government’s Role In Steele Dossier

On Wednesday, Representative Devin Nunes (R-CA), the top Republican on the House Intelligence Committee, urged President Donald Trump to ask Prime Minister Theresa May if British officials were involved in, and supportive of, intelligence-gathering activities targeted at his campaign or if they coordinated in any way with ex British spy Christopher Steele, the author of the Steele dossier, since the president is preparing to make a state visit to Britain in June.

“I respectfully request that you ask Prime Minister May about the British government’s knowledge of the Steele dossier and whether the British government took any unilateral actions based on information provided by [Christopher] Steele or at the request of any U.S. departments,” California Republican Rep. Devin Nunes wrote in a letter to Trump.

Nunes cited a May 19 article in The Telegraph titled, “Theresa May’s spy chiefs were briefed on explosive Christopher Steele dossier before Donald Trump.” The report said the heads of MI5 and MI6, the intelligence agencies of the United Kingdom, and a top May advisers were told about Steele’s salacious memos on the Trump campaign after his 2016 election victory and before Trump was told about it.

Nunes pointed out that the article raised “important questions about the potential role foreign government officials may have played in spreading the dossier’s false allegations and what actions they may have taken in response to the allegations,” Nunes came up with a set of questions for the president to ask May.

“Is the British government aware of, did it give permission for, or did it participate in, activities by any government to surveil or otherwise target active or former associates of the Trump campaign, if any such surveillance activities took place?” Nunes wrote.

Another question: “Describe any communications or relationship, if any, Joseph Mifsud… has had with British intelligence and any information the British government possesses about Mifsud’s connection to any other government or intelligence agency.”

Since the beginning of the whole Spygate debacle, Nunes has been at the forefront of seeking answers to how the Trump-Russia collusion nonsense began. Trump said earlier this month that he is going to declassify related materials very soon.

From Fox News:

Earlier this week, Nunes told Fox News that the FBI had “something to hide” concerning Mifsud, a Maltese academic who allegedly told former Trump campaign adviser George Papadopoulos in April 2016 that Russia had damaging information about Trump’s rival Hillary Clinton, eventually touching off the original FBI probe. Papadopoulos has accused Mifsud of acting as one of many spies intent on corroborating “bad intelligence.”

“He is the first person that we know of on earth that supposedly knows something about the Russians having Hillary’s emails,” Nunes told “Fox News @ Night.” “He has since denied that, but [Special Counsel Robert] Mueller in his report claimed that Mifsud — or insinuated that Mifsud — was some sort of Russian asset. We know that this is not the case. In fact, we know that he was in the U.S. Capitol … just steps away from an intelligence committee.”

Nunes’ letter to Trump also drills down on how deeply reliant the intelligence community was on Steele, whose dossier played a central role in obtaining a Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) warrant to monitor former Trump aide Carter Page.

John Solomon, investigative report from The Hill, reported earlier this month that the FBI was told that Steele admitted to someone high up at the State Department that he was “keen” to leak the phony dossier in hopes of influencing the 2016 election against Trump.  Steele hated Trump, and wanted to do anything he could to harm his candidacy.  That State Department official went on to raise concerns about the accuracy of some of Steele’s claims during that meeting.  In that meeting Steele also acknowledged that the dossier was funded by the Democratic National Committee (DNC) and the Hillary Clinton campaign.  Tragically, James Comey’s FBI failed to offer up that knowledge to the the FISA court when they used the phony dossier to get a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.

Transcripts: McCabe, Not Mueller, Fired FBI Agent Peter Strzok From Special Counsel Team

Transcripts of testimony that were recently released are causing all kinds of havoc in the D.C. swamp.  One set of transcripts shows fired and disgraced former deputy FBI director Andrew McCabe testified that he was the one who “made the decision” to fire the disgraced former FBI agent Peter Strzok from the Mueller team, and not Robert Mueller himself.

“Former acting FBI director Andrew McCabe claimed he ‘made the decision’ to remove Peter Strzok from Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s team in the summer of 2017 after a series of anti-Trump text messages surfaced between the former FBI special agent and another official with whom he was romantically involved,” Fox News reports.

“It was long thought that Mueller had Strzok removed after the texts between him and Lisa Page were uncovered. But McCabe’s apparent role was revealed in a newly released transcript from his House Judiciary Committee interview on Dec. 21, 2017,” the article added.

Then why didn’t Mueller say this himself publicly?  He had to have known it was big news at the time when the story broke that Strzok had been removed from the team over the content of newly discovered text messages between Strzok and his lover (who was not his wife) former FBI attorney Lisa Page.  Why did Mueller allow the falsehood to go on for so long?  Was it because it made him look good in the eyes of the public?  When you are perpetrating a fraud, such as was the whole Trump-Russia collusion investigation, you’ll take anything that makes you look good.

“They said they had a very important matter for me to review and they needed me to come across the street and talk to them that day, which was unusual,” McCabe told lawmakers in July 2017. “I made the decision to remove him from the investigation that evening.”

McCabe lied back in March when he claimed that the phony Steele dossier was “accurately represented” when it was used to apply for a FISA warrant to spy on the Trump campaign.

“I do believe that we adequately notified the FISA Court of the information we were using, and what we thought of the information,” McCabe said over the weekend.

“I think everyone was satisfied that we had represented that accurately and adequately in the package,” he added. “I do think we represented it adequately”

Yeah, and I’m Mary, Queen of Scots.

McCabe was fired from the FBI in March last year, only days before he was scheduled to retire.  He has claimed that he was fired because of the Trump administration’s ongoing war with the FBI.  In reality, McCabe was fired by Attorney General Jeff Sessions, after his firing was recommended by both the Department of Justice’s Inspector General Michael Horowitz and the FBI’s own Office of Professional Responsibility, because he leaked to the Washington Post, and he lied to Congress under oath when he denied that he leaked to the Washington Post.  When you join the FBI, the first thing they teach you at the academy is if you are caught lying, you’re done.  The FBI takes their agents lying very seriously, as it should, because agents must be able to be  trusted with the powers they are given to do their job.  McCabe and Strzok fell far short of that trust.

Donald Trump Jr Weighing Run for NYC Mayor

According to Page Six, the gossip page of the NY Post, which can be found coincidentally on page 6, Donald Trump Jr is considering a run for mayor of NYC next time out. Although Page Six is a gossip page, it has a long history of being right on it’s articles. But, Trump Jr really would have no chance in an election in one of the most liberal cities on the planet. He might want to do something really crazy like cutting taxes and he would probably have encouraged Amazon to build the campus in the city and create 25,000 jobs. Heaven forbid.

From The Gateway Pundit

Donald Trump Jr. is reportedly weighing a run against Bill de Blasio to become New York City’s next mayor.

According to a report from Page Six, “drums are beating that Donald Jr. would like to run for mayor.”

“We are not talking some parched sod in Iowa, where the corn is as high as a Democrat’s eye. Kiddies, mother is saying friends are saying he is saying he’d like to run for mayor of New York City,” the gossip column’s report asserted.

Trump Jr. is wildly popular among the president’s base.

Earlier this month, de Blasio announced that he will be running for president in the Democratic primary. He was the 24th candidate to announce.

President Trump ripped de Blasio as the ‘worst mayor’ in the United States in a video following his announcement that he is running for president.

In a tweet prior to his official announcement, President Trump said that “the Dems are getting another beauty to join their group. Bill de Blasio of NYC, considered the worst mayor in the U.S., will supposedly be making an announcement for president today. He is a JOKE, but if you like high taxes & crime, he’s your man. NYC HATES HIM!”
