Attorney General William Barr will not appear before the House Judiciary Committee on Thursday for a hearing on the Mueller report after Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-NY) made a last-minute format change where he wants lawyers to grill the AG instead of the elected officials themselves.
Department of Justice (DOJ) Spokesman Kerri Kupec said in a statement, “Unfortunately, even after the attorney general volunteered to testify, Chairman Nadler placed conditions on the House Judiciary Committee hearing that are unprecedented and unnecessary.”
Nadler wants Judiciary staffers (a.k.a. the lawyers) to question Barr, not just committee members, which is something Kupec says is “inappropriate.”
“Although we have worked around the clock to address his concerns Attorney General Barr has just informed us that he will not attend tomorrow’s hearing,” Nadler told reporters Wednesday evening on Capitol Hill. Oh, boo hoo.
On Monday, the chairman said Barr would have to appear at the hearing and that he can’t tell the Congress that he won’t show up.
Unfortunately, he can, especially when the hearing is setup for harassment of the Attorney General of the United States. The Trump administration put up with a phony Russian collusion hoax investigation created by the Democratic Party, specifically the Obama administration, to attack Donald Trump for the first half of the president’s first term in office, and now that their savior, special counsel Robert Mueller, has concluded that there was no Russian collusion, and Mueller did not recommend indictments for obstruction, the Democrats are trying to keep the collusion delusion alive all the way to 2020.
The DOJ will send a letter to the committee officially canceling Barr’s appearance. Democrats are already asking what the AG has to hide, even though he has testified before the Senate Judiciary Committee, and sat through multiple attacks on his character. He has also released the entire Mueller report to Congress, one version of the report having less than 1 percent redacted. In short, the AG has nothing to hide.
Nadler also said he wants Special Counsel Robert Mueller to appear before his panel on May 15.
When asked if staff attorneys were really necessary to question Barr in a hearing, Nadler answered with an insult.
“He is terrified of having to face a skilled attorney,” Nadler said of Barr.
I say it’s more like he’s tired of Democrat bullschtein. They are upset that they won’t get to showboat for 2020 campaigns the way the despicable Democrats did in the Senate yesterday.
The Russia collusion hoax is over, and the DOJ’s job for it has ended, even if Democrats haven’t yet realized it.
My book is here! And I personally handed a copy to our President at the White House!!! I hope you enjoy it
